So, I got some comments. Elise is my favorite champion and I play her a bit differently than you, but always as a top laner and bruiser. First of all the first item I get is usually boots, MR or DEF, depending on who i'm going against. Second I get malady. After the update of season 3, malady got actually really awsome and strong, and giving her that extra atk speed is essencial. This way in early game you'll have a decent survival and decent damage output. By this time you can mostly harass or kill your enemy lane if you play well. My third item is rylais, since elise lacks the slow in spider form this becomes a really important item. Third item used to be frozen heart, and can still be it, if your enemy is a high damage dealer with AD, but I prefer the new ice gaulet thingy. This way you'll get extra AP, DEF, slow and CDR. After that her itens are mainly situational, if I'm doing really well and no one is really doing that much to me, I get the new mask for the penetration and extra health. If the game is tight, I tend to go for Abyssal Scepter at this point for the extra magic resist and the magic resist pene it gives out, also the AP. Or if the enemy APC isn't doing ****, I'll get a zhonya for the extra defense. This is my build, being Malady and Rylai's my core, and must get. My masteries are different, is 22 offensive and 8 on defense, getting extra armor and MR mainly and also some hp. As for runes, I have two rune pages for her, I usually tend to use flat armor or hp over the levels. Glyphs is flat AP, as well as quisstances and marks are magic penetration. I find that this way you cna have a much killer Elise while still having a huge sustain.

Although expensive, I find getting a Trinity Force after Wit's End and Frozen Heart/Glacial Shroud increases her damage output with the sheen procs and potential slow procs.

There are some things I don't really agree with per say, but this guide definitely helped slightly with my own build.

Interesting alternative for building and playing Elise, will have to try sometime.

Looks very interesting, I always knew that going pure damage Elise is a wrong idea.

I have a question: you seem to be in love with wit's end. Why not malady? If you're facing an AP champ in lane like rumble, then okay no question buy wit's end. But, otherwise, it seems like malady would synergize really well with a spider form execute by proccing MR shred up to an execute with Q (not to mention scaling AP). It makes sense to invest in MR+armor and thus wit's end if you are truly building to be a bruiser, but if you're building like chogath and playing like nidalee, elise isn't going to be a true bruiser.

I've been playing your build more and more. This works! You have to keep in mind who your laning against as Elise is counterable, but this build really works! you don't need much AD or AP to still be incredibly viable. This build of stacking MR, CDR, armor, and AS really is the key for elise! Hope this build gets more up votes!

I played Elise a couple of times now and I get ever more sure that I´ll buy her, when the free week is up.
I really like this build, because, as you say, she is squishy.
THis build gives her survivability, whyle still keeping a good damage.
Thx mate,
and spin on!
