Why not buy rod of ages instead of rylai's crystal scepter for the extra mana that increases the efficiency of archangel's staff?

This is a good build, but I think you should get a rabadons before the lichbane. It'll make the lichbane sooo much better. Also you could try getting a morello's tome instead of a archangels. Or a rod of ages over the rylai. You'll have a 6-7 cd on alpha strike, which is really good. I can understand you have mana issues, but a rod of ages can cover that. The rylai slow isn't that beneficial. Btw meditate is a channeling. hourglass proc should interrupt it.

This build is more centered around using Master Yi as a late game carry. I do think deathfire grasp and sorcerer's shoes have their good scenarios, however I feel that they are weaker items in a consistant basis. If you need the extra mid game magic pen. I would instead buy archangel's then void staff or abbysal scepter depending on whether they are stacking mr or they have a quick banshee's vail. The reason for archangel's would be to give him an early boost to ap and set him up for mid/late game. I do agree however that if you are up against an ashe or another carry that is getting magic resist fast then you should get sorcerer's shoes. I will update the guide.

This build enabled me to carry a 4v5 to victory. I would literally just alphastrike the squishy that was farther away from the team fight, so I could easily just exit the team fight. After two or three alphastrikes, the entire team was low, and whenever they tried to focus me I would just meditate ( after their cc of course ).

you rly need more magic pen in your build cuz always when i play AP yi people start buying 2x negatron cloak and i just make **** dmg so you need the 40% much earlyer or get atleast magic pen boots, also since early/mid game is where ap yi shines i dont think getting archangels is such a great idea since it will start befiniting you to late, i usually start with morrellos tome or when they have high life/tanky champion I buy deathfiregrasp instead, they will give you enough mana reg for laning and same cooldown as boots, sometimes i just buy second dorans ring for lane dominance, i also always get guardian angel as last item since it is just OP with meditate
all in all AP is yi is most fun to play solo top esspecially vs 2 squishys :P
