Yeah... a lot of mobafire guides aren't too great. But there are a lot of guides worht reading out here. Another good site you might want to try for guides is Solomid.net.

Thanks for saying that about my guide, I really appreciate it. Since the update the guide is a lot squishier but ends up doing more damage. However I often find myself building Randuin's Omen during games depending on the team composition.

I build Black Cleaver A LOT. However it isn't a core item unless I feel the enemy team composition is too tanky for me to take out with just a Last Whisper.

yeah jungle Zed is pretty cool. I'm a jungle main myself so I've tried pretty much everything in the jungle including jungle Garen, Yorick and Renekton. Anyways...
To gank you hsould look at my ganking section for lots of detail. but I'll do a brief summary here cuz I know its a bit long.

so first of all, it's really good to have either red buff or exhaust up, otherwise your ganks will be very poor unless the lane provides CC.

1) run into lane and put a Living Shadow or Death Mark (Depends on how low they are) in the area where you believe they will run.
2) Hit Shadow Slash for the slow, and then either Living Shadow again or run up to them.
3) Begin auto attacking them, exhaust them if you have it and think you can get a kill.
4) Unload Razor Shuriken if they go under turret or flash.

Usually you can't get a kill with just this, but you can usually cause them to flash. If you make them use flash, you can easily come up and gank them again for a kill.

Sorry guy, I have not been around for a while and my guide kind of fell apart in disrepair.
For personal reasons I decided to quit league of legends for a while and ended up not playing. But now I'm back and I've decided to give this guide a full out rework and hopefully get it ready for Season 4! I find the Black Cleaver as a core item: CDR, Health, and now the shred comes from abilities too! Why dont you give it a go??

This is the #1 zed build in my opinion. Great for survivability. I know most people this Flash is pointless to have on Zed with his W but it has saved me on more than 1 occasion I would recommend this Guide to anyone who would play as Zed.
