If you are looking for good AP Mid Picks. You should learn how to play safe mid laners that aren't countered easily like the following:

Orianna: All of her abilities rely on placement of her ball. She has a relatively large range for her abilities, allowing her to zone out mid-laners pretty easily once gaining an advantage. Command: Shockwave synergizes very well with other AoE ultis and abilities (i.e. Unstoppable Force) allowing her to have a good prescence in team fights. She is not easily countered; however, a well-played Orinna can abuse melee characters in the early game.

Ahri: She has very good wave-clear, and passive spell-vamp based on how many targets her abilities land on. Her mobility is the thing that makes Ahri very unique and fun to play. She has three dashes, and does not have to use them all at once. She is a very good roamer, and has a strong cc ( Charm) that makes it possible for her to catch opponents off-guard.

Morgana: Innate Spell-Vamp, wave clear, crowd control, and a spell shield. Very safe mid-laner, and has a very strong team-fight presence. She is very hard to gank due to her Black Shield, and has high roam potential with Dark Binding, and her ultimate. However, not the champion you should look to buy if you are an aggressive mid-laner.

the thing that i dont like in Orianna is in late game she lose he harrass and become a support for the team, which is a good thing in some games, but no my style i guess.

Ahri become really strong with the new items.

Morgana is still one of the stronger champions because she has about no hardcounters and her teamfight presence is huge. She works better in arranged queue though.

Morg and Ahri are less picked noawadays. Ahri does fine but lacks in consistency while Morg gives too little damage output (2 trick pony)

its all depend on the team, i always think that, as Katarina u have the job of kill the carries, that depends if u have a high CC team, Amumu+Sona for example.
As Ryze ur job is to nuke and snare oponents and let the AD carry kill them.
As Evelynn u have to run cross the whole map assasin other champs.

I like to think that there is not a superior Mid Laner, is all about the team Comp. I have games where with Diana i go like 6-0 and lose cuz a bad jungler or a fed oponent like an Ezreal, or bad focus on team fights, in normal games that happend a lot.

Try to learn who all mid champs play and then choose ur favorite. I love Ahri, Katarina and Diana but i play all other champs, I hate Karthus, Fizz or Brand for example but is just my choice.

Orianna, Morgana, Anivia, Ryze and Evelynn are pretty much the best atm.
They are fairly item-independant, have good CC and are strong at all stages of the game.

Karthus, Katarina, Zyra, Gragas and Diana form a pretty strong tier 2.

It really depends on your preferred play style. Many mid champions are simply "nuke" champions, meaning they have hard hitting spells with relatively high AP ratios. a few examples would be Brand and Annie. Then there are AP assassins who have less sustain but typically do even more damage and can snowball very well like Kassadin and Diana or Katarina. Personally i like DOT champions who generally have good sustain and imo an interesting kit like Swain or Cassiopeia. And finally there are very passive laners like Morgana. In essence, there are TONS of great AP mids you just need to find some that fit your style of play the best.

The con with malz is that his lane is pretty much always pushed because of his e which leave him vunerable for ganks. He doesnt have any escape potential expect for his flash.
Although i have to agree that malz is really strong and can decimate any other ap mid.

LeBlanc falls off due to her skillset. A short ranged single target mage isn't very strong late-game. Malzahar is pretty strong atm. His pushing and roaming is exceptional.

It's not the LeBlanc falls off late game, it is just that her opponents start to build their defensive items, and it is not as easy to burst them down. This makes LeBlanc harder to play because most average LeBlanc's only now how to faceroll and that's about it.

Oh also Leblanc is good for laning but falls off into the very late game. I've never played Malz though

Find AP Mids from that and continue from there, imo. That is, if you can't decide. Might as well go with what works.

leblanc is a champ that you need lost of practice with to be good(ELO games) but she is defenitly a good mid champ, she has high mobility and good burst with her combos, then i also like to play TF. he has the biggest dmgspell range ingame(his Q) and with his W you can spam speels as much as ou want even when you dont have blue buff, his W can also be good for engages with the goldcard and his ult is werry good to gank. Fizz is also good sicne you can push lanes with your E ore do serius dmg with Q and W, af lvl 6 he outclasses many mid champs with his ult. That are the 1. i wood racomend you.
