But Garen can be a very good Off-tank in S3.
Just start with a Sunfire Cape, build a Warmog's and an Atma's. Build a Spirit Visage and a Malmortius. This is actually a heavy off-tank build.
At Force of Nature's place , Aegis of the Legion or Shurelya's is a good idea i think.
I don't usually follow guides, since I like to build my people the way I like it, but this one is one of the few I still follow.
Hey Shaxys
I tried to send you a PM about suggestions to your guide, but I think there may have been a bug so I am going to put some of my criticisms and suggestions here.
First off, I just want to say your guide is brilliant. I love off-tanking as Garen and since first using Frozen Mallet combined with Atmas, and chucking in Warmogs, I ain't once looked back. The guide itself is nice and simple, my only major suggestion would be giving brief outlines certain matchups? The only other suggestion I would bring forward is giving brief notes on why you chose certain materies etc. Otherwise, I find your guide is fine, except for one aspect, which brings me to the criticisms.
As far as criticisms, I don't have anything major except for one minor quip :P so don't worry, its not ceaseless spam. Since the transition of Season 3 and even before, I have always been a significant fan of going 9/21, deep in the Defense Masteries, one of the minor alternatives I have taken from your guide. For an update to your guide I would suggest the following Masteries set up:

The reason I do this is because I find the Offensive Mastery Tree, ultimately, benefits Garen very little, Executioner and Havoc giving his ultimate a whopping 52 extra damage...assuming it strikes for 750 damage anyway. Further more, I find Garen's damage more than adequate, even in practice after using deep Defense Masteries, and has absolutely everything to gain by going deep in the tree.
All the best

Thanks alot for all the love! I don't know either why I haven't recieved your PM, sorry. Been busy lately, also. I have been working with
I will try to make a certain matchup section, thanks alot for the tip.
And yes, somewhat like those masteries is my path aswell.
Once again, thanks alot! And merry christmas!
Merry Christmas everybody, even!!

Yup, it is. And the masteries are outdated currently. I am playing
Thanks for still thinking it's good, though.
