Seems pointless. Riot already sells RP cards for exactly this purpose.

lifebaka - yes, I saw these RP cards at GameStop the other day. I was thinking it would be awesome if you could buy specific items out-of-game. It would be so much cooler if my friend gave me a skin than RP. Sure RP are practical, but - lets face it - gift cards don't have a ton of meaning.
yea, wouldn't be sure why you'd do that. i do think they should reopen the gifting thingy though.

I don't know about you, but I know absolutely zero people who would both 1) buy me gifts and 2) know what skins/champions/other RP stuff I can actually use. (In fact, I'm not sure if I know anyone who falls into 2, regardless of 1.) RP cards seem to be a much more viable option, and they avoid problems with either letting other people see what you own on your account (which would be really, really, really bad) or having to deal with attempting to redeem skins/champions/etc. that you already own (which would either be bad or just be RP).

As far as I know, RP cards are only usable on the NA servers (and also only sold there) so I'd say this is a good solution for all eu players.

No, it's an unnecessarily complicated solution for EU players which would be unnecessarily complicated to execute and could have potentially disastrous consequences if not done well. A good solution would be to simply make RP cards/codes available in the EU, since Riot already has that system set up in NA and would only need to port it over to the EU servers.

How would you respond to LOL starting to sell skins (via gift card code) out-of-game? Would it be cool if items were sold on an e-commerce site, like Amazon.com? This would allow non-gamers/ non-LOL players to buy LOL items as gifts to active players.
