You have been playing for three days and are already looking for a main? Well...I could say a lot of things about that such as:
3 days isn't long enough really to pick one champ and go with them at least not for a real extended amount of time.
There are new champions available for free every week. Each champion fits into certain roles as you have said (jungler, APC, ADC, support, Top, etc.)
So I would say try as many free champs you can with beginner bots. Figure out what ROLE you like first....top, mid, bottom, jungle. Than look at more champs for that role.
If you decide you like top
Cho'Gath is a good champ to play with and can be good for beginners up to advanced players (so a sound investment)
If you like mid
Ryze is a good champ to play with, cheap, and is used in the pro circuit games.
If you like bot
Ashe is a good champ to start with as an ADC.
Nunu & Willump is a good support to buy bottom. Both are cheap and allow for some error that won't completely ruin a match.
If you like jungle
Nunu & Willump can be played there,
Cho'Gath can be played there,
Warwick can be played there. They are pretty good beginner junglers as they have good abilities to heal themselves.
Bottom line though...don't look to much into having a 'main' champ just yet. Try as many free champs as you can until you find one you work well with and more importantly that you have fun playing with. You might be surprised who that is...so give everyone a chance...when I started I wanted nothing to do with
Teemo and after I played with him I really found that I could do well with him and have fun with him. He was able to get me to lvl 20+ and I had fun doing it, if I had just picked a champ to be competitive with I don't know that I would have kept playing if it wasn't fun. Just remember the advice I always give to new players: try before you buy.

If you are on the NA server look me up and we can play a few together and chat :)

definitely play all the free champs each week!
personally i have found Cho to be more difficult than jax, malphite, kayle in the top lane - all three of those champs are less "hit an run" and more "hey look, they are running from me?"
I cant believe i am saying this but maybe try teemo also top lane - he has a hit and run feel to him - (just so you know i have no respect for anyone who plays teemo..lol)
mid i would definitely recommend RYZE he is my favourite champ by far - he is easy to pick up as his mechanics are pretty simple - and when you learn to position your self really well he is a monster!
i dont play bot or jungle all that much so no real opinons there

Teemo is the Spawn of the Devil!
i can only assume anyone playing teemo is also in some way inclined to evil deeds..haha
its less about the quality of teemo players - its more that little furry *****
before the nerf he was leterally in every game and was soo annoying to lane against.... i am not sure whether the nerf hit really hard or whether i just learned to play v teemo but he does not seem all that scary nowadays

I have to admit sometimes I play

I don't think teemo is all that hard to play against..depends on who you are playing as...if you have any real burst with a dash of cc and a little survivability you can bring him down quick...unless he goes hybrid/tanky which I do on occasion...but when you do that you lose a lot in team fight utility.

First, champion selection, I have enjoyed playing as Wukong so far. I like that he can get into a fight knock some guys around and then bail out with some clones. So, I feel that my play style is more of a hit and run type. I have been drawn to the character Panthenon as his difficulty rating is low while his attack is very high. So, any advice on a champion to unlock would be great I really like sticking to one and having it as my main champion so I'd prefer someone durable so that I have options in playstyle.
Second, I need some term and land clarification. What is Jungler, Assassin, AP, AD, and what does it mean if a character is a top lane champion or bottom lane champion?
Thanks for the help and I'm looking forward to being a part of this community!
