Also learn the keyboard shortcuts for casting to ally without clicking on them (By default F1-F5 are the champions on your team in scoreboard order; rebind if you want). I don't think there are such shortcuts for the enemy team; I personally never have problems with it, but if some Cho'gath is bodyblocking you from casting spells on other champions, I don't think there's a way around it.
You just need to internet more. It comes with experience.
If you think I did a good job criticizing a guide or giving helpful info, or for just being a bawz of a bro, rep would be awesome :)

First off,
I think you should change the mouse speed from the settings to a favorable speed for yourself for now - which I think would be a bit slower than current setting. (You find this in the "more options" category). As you get better at it, raise the speed once in a while.
And as it has already been said, experience is one factor. The more you play the better you get.
Then of course, there is the option to turn on smart cast range indicator (which I think was only possibly previously by modifying your data files a little).

Currently, my biggest problem while I play her is misclicking on everything. I will try to cast Whimsy on an enemy and accidentally cast it on an ally, or I will try to cast Wild Growth on an initiating teammates and miss, resulting in a useless ult of myself. I'm missing a lot of spells during crucial moments and it's really killing my team.
So how can I work on my mouse precision so that I cast spells accurately and actually help my team during fights?
P.S. I smartcast.
