How many games does it take to become an expert at a champion. Proficient? Adept? If I have played 20 games with Diana does that mean I am ready to take her to ranked? Or do I need to have 20 wins with her? Maybe it is just win the lane 20 times? Is 20 too small? Too high?

TL;DR How many games do you need to play/win with a champ before you are ready for ranked matches with that champ?

this is almost completely dependent on the player. it is also somewhat dependent on the skill cap of the champion so no real 'standard' answer here.

takes me probably three games with a champ to play them at a level above stupid. has taken me close to 50 games to play a a higher level that would be considered decent. takes another 50 for me to say I play them pretty well. but than again I am wood tier and only have like 300 normals under my belt.

EDIT: also makes a difference if you are playing the same champ back to back or mixing it up OR you play them for a bit...take a hiatus...than play them again. this is probably my biggest barrier as I simply don't have the time to consistently play league.

Game mechanic fundamentals is pretty important; if you are good at league you can pick up new champions quickly.

Its always back to those fundamentals.

I swear the only thing I am good at as far as fundamentals is CSing D:.

Thanks for the quick replies.

I've played probably 50 games with Diana and I don't feel like an expert. I think I am average at least, but definitely not an expert.

Depends on the champion. I have about 1000 games with Xerath and 800 games with Kassadin and feel pretty comfortable with both. However have about 100-200 games with Draven and I still don't feel as comfortable as I'd want. I have the same amount of games, maybe less, with Zed but I'm pretty good on him.

Probably depends on the champion.. If they have skillshots or are more complex to play, they will probably take longer to get a handle on. Diana's Q is a skillshot, and I'd say if you can consistently land it on enemies, then you are getting along pretty well with her. Everything else is just your ability to play in general.

To be honest, you never cease to improve your mechanics on a champion. It takes about 2-3 games to get the "feeling" of a champion. But you'll never cease to improve with said champion.

ty xaiolu for the sign :3
