17th May Inhouses -
Game 2 was a touch one-sided. Oxide and Gott too stronk in bot lane.
Game 3 I felt was much better balanced - watching the replay back seems to confirm this. I actually enjoyed this game more, even though I got stomped in lane and turned most teamfights into a 4v5 :/
But he's a nice guy, and he did ask to make sure that everyone was OK with the balance before each game began.

Game 2 was lost in champion select, not much to do with the player balancing I think. The host also can't control who decides to go to which lane, so there's nothing I can really do to directly prevent a lane imbalance.
Blind FP Fizz was a bad call, didn't help to remedy the situation :(

"You remind me of Good Will Hunting. Or Ramanujan. Take your pick."
I think Gott der 7 Meere (Plat), Oxide (Diamond) and Disturbed (Gold I) together was a bit stronger than Luther, GMD and me on the other team (2 Golds and 1 Silver currently, though two were Gold and one Plat last season), but it still could've gone either way and I agree the
Fizz pick didn't help.

Bot was going even, one bad decision and jungle camp put us behind. We needed to make some plays around dragon/bot lane to turn it around but ganks didn't happen and with AP trist so fed there was no way to win the mid game. And Vayne completely outscales Draven in any case.
Might I suggest using LoLKing scores as an approximation of elo?
So, taking an average for the teams -
Game 2, blue team was around 200 over purple.
Game 3, Blue team was around 30 below purple. (Game 3 was closer imo)
(For the people I couldn't find a number for, BarbJ and Nyaad I gave a score of 1200, while Oxide I reckoned was around 2000)
Just make people add it into the signup sheet so it's easy to find.
Pros of this - Lets you balance more accurately than using wins (particularly if you only use the score on someone's main account. It's also a vaguely maths-based way of balancing, which is a bit more objective than going on opinion of someone's skill.
Cons - Not everyone has a LoLKing score, and the scores might not even be that accurate, especially for the numbers that you have to pull out your arse. Takes more time for the host to do.

LoLKing score is based on elo, so I'm not sure why you're not just calling it that. The problem with elo is the difference between the season 2 and 3 rating of some players and the fact that some players don't play much ranked, but it is generally something you want to keep an eye on.

LKS is NOT really based on ELO
Basically, what they do is the following:
For example, gold used to be 1500-1850. Now you have 5 divisions - that is 70 LKS points for each division
So basically, when you are at gold 5 with 100 league points, you will have 1570 LKS.
This is just been used as a reference and is nowhere a reflection of your hidden elo (= matchmaking rating)

Promoting BarbJ to ref, thanks for the feedback. :)
