Two things:
What are your favorite console co-op games? Any game console qualifies. Must be co-op, competition doesn't count.
Honorable mentions:
Secret of mana (SNES)
Resident evil 5 (XBAWCKS)
King of dragons (SNES)
Compiling a list. Gimme your favorite co-op games of ALL TIME!
Also, I'm looking for younger people that haven't played some early snes/nes classics and would be willing to play those games and record your thoughts. Some of the games are pretty long on their 1st playthrough, so you have to be committed to finish the games in a timely manner (week or less).
Some games I was thinking about:
Secret of mana
Super Mario RPG
Chrono Trigger
Super Metroid
Actraiser
Various megaman titles
All of these are available in rom format. Got spare time and haven't played older games, HMU kiddies

In more recent console-play campaigns I'd go with Halo, Borderlands, and Gears of War. Not many co-op action games outside of shooter-centric games around now. Versus mode games or mini games then Call of Duty (The Treyarch ones have the most offline replay value), Halo, and Gears of War.
Can't really comment on PC co-op games, I tend to play online competitive games when it comes to computer games.
Now that I got some time to think about it, I suddenly remembered Halo. Halo 3 and Reach specifically, since those were the games available at my cousin's house at the time.
I wouldn't piss on army of two's teeth if its gums were on fire.
I.e; hey guize I really like army of two!
That game was garbage and had almost identical gameplay to re5 and a bastardized gears of war.
I had to play it cause it was coop but so glad I rented it. So bad.
Thanks that's real nice especially since you asked us what our favourite games
Those aren't even my favorites. I just offered co-op games. My favorite is Kirby Air Ride, but that's competitive, not co-op. And Portal 2 is a good co-op game, but I only played it on my friend's XBOX, and we don't see each other too often.
I've played every single game you guys have mentioned and they are all bad games.
Didn't play the splinter cell game, but I have played several games in that franchise and mgs kicks the **** out of splinter for stealth.
Not a Mario kart fan at all.
Eternal sonata was a garbage knockoff of the tales series, including tales of symphonia, one of the best coop games of all time.
When you guys say bad games that have a direct comparison to a superior game, I'm justified in saying you like ****ty games.

rock band/guitar hero. I slap the bass. xbox or PS.
sunset riders. snes. (did I mention I am old?)
RE5 was a decent coop no doubt about it.
really though there are so few good coop titles it saddens me...I go out of my way to find them too.
Super Smash Bros. Brawl (Wii)
I'm mostly a solo gamer so :P
