You dont really need lifesteal early since you dont get that much out of it and it's better with pots.
The build is pretty outdated and wriggle isn't good anymore since it only works on monsters.
What works for me is Tiamat then 2x Zeal. It helps you farm and add extra bust.
You may then get the scepter for lifesteal but no need to upgrade it to Hydra until you get full PD.

I really hope DdukBoGGi can update this guide since it's truly the best guide out there.

I like this guide, but don't you find it hard to farm without more life steal items early game?
Also, I tried out: PD, PD, IE, Trinity, Last Whisper, BT on a custom match and was hitting creeps with like 1000+ critical strikes each strike. Very Very OP, however when you're taking on champs you need to catch them by surprise and get an AA in before they start to run away, because without the merc treads you depend on the rage and fury buffs, which require AA to be hit.
I just finished a normal match, my team got wasted, absolutely smashed. But, I used your guide to play Sion, I ended up as the highest leveled player, with 7 kills, and only 3 deaths and a creep score of 229, I changed the guide a little, entering a vamp after the wriggles lantern for some extra LS in lane, which worked wonders against a Fiora. Maybe you want to consider putting the vamp into your guide? test it out :)

You are a beast, just used this guide. Went 9/4/3 in a normal game .. my deaths were all turret dives against 2 or more champs. I think my cs was around 210. Didn't buy wriggles though. Started cloth armour 4 Health pots + 1 mana. Went zeal, vamp sceptre and boots on first (b) + wards and potions. Had the turret down around the 15m mark. I think I (b) 3 or 4 times ... maybe?! Each time I had around 2.5k to spend. I really really like Sion now. Excellent guide though. 5/5

I havent seen any mention about Youmuu's Ghostblade. Doesnt it have all the stats that AD Sion'd be ineterested?

Also, what do you think about Trinity Force?

Just wondering, since your build include wriggles to make farming easier, what about getting hunter's machete as your starting item?

I just tried it and it was really sick. The opposing team was caught by surprise. I replaced the lantern with the bloodthirster in late game and my items were --merc boots, phantomdancer 2x, infinity edge, warmogs armor, and maw of malthorus. I didn't go for the frozen mallet cause I could easily mow them down in team battles.

i'd say add ghost blade. Ghost blade really helps a lot more than black cleaver. it doesn't have as much armor pen, but it allows Sion to get an early GP5 to help with early farming as well as MS bost and AS boost, both of which help with zoning, and help his ult LS for more. i think AS GP5 and MS as well as raw damage make up for a small loss in A-pen especially when it's possible your ADC and jungler could be getting it and even your mid if he's an ad assassin.

Awesome guide Paul! First time looking at your guide and this is the build I have always gone with Sion since when I first started. Works perfectly. All facts are accurate and very detailed!
