Its a new feature we recently added so everyone can more easily keep track of builds they are interested in. If you subscribe, like subscribing in forums, you will receive an email notification the next time someone comments on the build.

The same feature was added to the forum as well.

I should also point out you can come back to the build or thread and the link or button will now say "unsubscribe" click it to stop email notifications for that topic. If you wish to turn off all email notifications go to your edit profile page and you will see an option there.

Cheers

In otherwords, should the author subscribe to his own builds to keep track of new comments?

Yes, we didn't want to force subscriptions on people, even authors, as we thought it might annoy. If you guys think it should default to subscribed for authors, we can change it :)

We could also add an option on your profile to always send you notifications for your own builds and/or threads. What do you guys think of that?

We're adding a checkbox as well, just above the buttons to save/publish, as a reminder (and next to the comment boxes too), so you can subscribe as you post. We just won't have them checked by default unless you guys prefer us to.

You need to log in before commenting.
