Hey guys. I've recently been learning (or trying to learn) how to jungle, and I'm noticing that I'm taking a TON of damage from every camp I go to, especially the mini golems. This isn't much of a problem when I play Warwick, but when I play Rammus and my Defensive Ball Curl buff ends, my health drops rapidly. Same goes for when I play Amumu, to the point where I've actually been executed. I run out of health potions before I go back to base. I have runes for armour, and that helps, but I'm still noticing my health going to dangerous levels. Is there something I'm doing wrong? Is there anything I can do to not get that feeling that I'm going to die while killing the wolves? All help is appreciated :)

Well, it could be a variety of things. Not having the right rune page despite using flat armor seals, not having the right mastery page, not buying Hunter's Machete, or you might not be using your champs correctly.

I doubt its any of those and instead its you not getting help with the blue golem or red lizard. Its possible for some champs to clear the entire jungle without any help from their team but its slow, impractical, and dangerous. The buff will make all the difference. Blue gives CDR and mana regen while red gives a damage over time debuff.

So far, I'm competent with: Riven, Sona, Ahri

I'm still learning: Akali, Katarina, Irelia, Sejuani, Vi, Ashe, and Vayne

with full armor yellows there shouldnt be an issue. Thats legit the only thing most junglers need alongside with as/ad/mpen reds...

i dont know what kinda route you are taking but with a leash on the first buff you can easily rush doublebuffs (now you are lvl3) without any problems. And thats pretty much the standard route

I almost never kill my mini golems until near the mid game. I'd rather spend the time, health and mana getting my lanes fed. They're just too much trouble to kill until you're a bit stronger.

Yeah, usually after 2nd or 3rd back you can take golems without losing too much time or health.

This doesn't really have much to do with your problem but don't be afraid to spend smite in the earlyish game or when you know objectives will be down for a while. The +10 gold and time saved by smiting normal camps like wolves is nice.

Thanks everyone :D All of those answers helped! I adjusted my rune page and jungling route to a safer path so I'll have less down time, and more time to use the two buffs to gank lanes. At the same time, I also practice using junglers with their own sustain (ok, only Fiddlesticks, but his ganks are some of the best I've ever seen). +rep for all

You can try jungling with Nunu & Willump, to avoid the problem.. It will help you with understanding the right timing and it's fun to play with him :)

I wouldn't recommend Nunu & Willump. You have to be really good at this game (not just jungle) to make him work. He can completely shut down the enemy jungler and get you the earliest dragon/baron evuhr but it's not easy.

Nasus and Warwick are probably the best champs to learn jungle on. Both are easy to play and well sustained.
I don't play LoL anymore.
