I don't specifically mention Hexdrinker because I don't like its late game build options. I wouldn't buy it.

Quoted:
Mid lane Jarvan and you don't even have Hexdrinker as a situational item.

Because, y'know, armor is great at reducing magic damage.

I mention a couple times throughout the text that you should build defensively and play conservatively if things aren't going well. I also suggest starting with a Null-Magic Mantle if the enemy AP is really strong early, for instance if you're against a Diana. I don't specifically mention Hexdrinker because I don't like its late game build options. I wouldn't buy it. I would instead suggest rushing a Spectre's Cowl or just grabing that Null-Magic Mantle and building it into a Locket of the Iron Solari... both of which were talked about in the text of the guide.

+1. The guide itself is nice, although it could use some BB code. I don't play Jarvan so I don't know how good the build is, but it looks fine.

I've had problems with a lot of those tankier short range casters like mordekaiser, ryze and nunu, especially if they get a blue buff over you. You can really pound them late game but the lane phase for those match ups sucks. I'll write this up in the match-ups section but the best thing to do, imo, is get a ward on their blue, then push and roam a lot.

Mordekaiser, Ryze, and Nunu are all wonderful at stomping on melee champions in lane, and Jarvan is no exception. If they Mordekaiser/Ryze/Nunu is any good, you will need multiple ganks or you will lose lane hard. One thing I can say though; Ryze and Nunu have **** waveclear and have difficulty farming under tower, so try pushing them to their tower if your jungler can't gank.

It would be REALLY good if you could make it a little bit fancy, but that's fine by me.

Mid J4 does work. I believe that mid Lane J4 is all about getting that level advantage faster and pounding that advantage, like Fort Pot Lee Sin is.

You would cry when Ryze comes mid lane though XD
