Lal, biology was my weakest subject last year, got 80 UMS in unit 4 in winter (barely an A, I retook it for pride's sake, I got the A* I needed for my offer from maths), then to my great surprise, not only did I get an A* in biology, it was my strongest A* with just 2 UMS dropped this year. My friend who was stressing about not getting the A* he needed for his offer only went and got 5 A*s (then didn't tell me, the bar steward :/) which is pretty neat. Next time I see him I can say "I told you so".

I'm wondering if I'm not giving Rylai's the consideration it deserves. I like an early Zhonya's for the active, armour and ****-tonne of AP, but I often feel a little flimsy, perhaps I'd be in a better mental state if I had the HP from Rylai's first. I suppose the enemy team comp influences just how useful Zhonya's will be. It's always great to have, but I can probably delay it if no one has something I want to avoid with the stasis and the physical threat is about equal to the magical. My games haven't lasted longer than Athene's > Zhonya's > Deathcap for a while, Rylai's + Void Staff might fit. Not sure if I'd place Rylai's in my Seraph's builds, I like to get Morello's to make up for the lack of CDR on Seraph's.
