Looking ahead two things could happen:
1. Humanity drops religion and focuses on technology that would allow us to live on other planets and eventually leave the solar system as well as being able to harvest the greatest possible amount of energy that the entire solar system and maybe even the entire galaxy outputs. We become the masters of the universe and eventually all that will be left to do is relax whilst drinking a cup of hot chocolate while gazing at the spaceship filled space.
2. People go full ****** and eventually planet earth dies because of the drastic effects humans have had on it. Eventually leading to extinction and nothing will be left except that hint of greatness that wasn't allowed to shine because of the foolishness of a combination of atoms that is called a human.

Theres a problem with that banana man and it's that the sun is eventually going to gulp up the earth. Life that stays on it is doomed no matter how deep inside the land it is.

There are creatures living without sunlight, there are creatures living without heat, there are creatures living without oxygen.
The sun gives heat, sunlight and allows photosynthesis. The disappearance of the sun would not affect the lives of those creatures.
