Top Lane Advice?

So anyway, since I am still a noob, and as the ranks progress the competition will get tougher I wanted to ask for people's advice in the top lane. I am more interested in tips and tricks with champs, countering, mastery and runes, brush tactics, disrupting and navigating through the jungle, tower diving, lane semantics, minion control etc. Any advice will really do, and I am looking forward to any help you can give me.
