idk still using my 4 year old piece of **** laptop so I'm accustomed to playing at 10 fps. Hoping to build a really nice desktop soon.

Thanks to FatelBlade, JEFFY40HANDS, Nyoike, TheNamelessBard, GrandmasterD, aviseras and koksei for the awesome signatures
my laptop is three years old and used to sit at around 2-10 fps, but I cleaned out a bunch of old stuff and got a different antivirus and now it runs at around 40-50.
Just to be clear, are we talking about low FPS or high ping?
If your FPS is getting too low, try updating your graphics drivers. That might help. Also make sure you don't have too many other programs running. And restart LoL if it gets too bad, since the problem might be a memory leak. Other than that, make sure your hardware actually is still up to spec and consider upgrading if it isn't.
If it's high ping... Try playing away from peak hours for your neighborhood. Most ISPs have to throttle bandwidth when there are too many people in a small are all trying to use the internet at the same time, so just avoid the times when people who live near you are all trying to be online at the same time. Primarily you'll want to avoid evenings and weekends, in general, although sometimes other times are problematic as well (my neighborhood has a usage spike between midnight and 1 AM, for instance). And see about upgrading your internet service, if possible.

It's a low FPS thing. Normally, it runs really high, with no lag whatsoever on the high graphics settings. Now, it runs really low (25-30) on even the lowest graphics setting. When I engage teamfights, the champs just freeze until the teamfight ends, and then they all zip around the map, floating, and I'm dead.
It's such a drastic and sudden change. If it's only updates, why would it have been fine all along? It's really weird.

Do you use locked camera? I've found, on relatively recent LoL versions, that locked camera seems to give me substantially lower FPS. I don't know why.
Other than that... Have you recently installed any new programs? Have any other programs updated recently? Have you tried closing every other program you have open while playing LoL? Have you defragged your hard drive recently? Have you dusted out your computer recently?

That doesn't sound like an FPS thing, that sounds like network instability. I get similar issues sometimes, even if my ping doesn't change. Is that a consistent problem every time you get into teamfights, or does it occur only some of the time? Does it ever happen outside of teamfights, like when you're walking to lane or last hitting or something? Does the problem tend to occur more often at certain times of day (outside the game) or on certain days?

Definitely don't use a locked camera (I may be Bronze, but I'm not THAT Bronze). I haven't installed anything new. Haven't defragged or dusted, though. Maybe that's the problem?
For some reason, the lag seems way worse in ranked, though that could just be ****py luck.
It has been consistent for the past two days, but never has it ever happened before. And my internet is running fine, otherwise.

Time of day doesn't seem to matter. It is most noticeable during teamfights, but sometimes I'll notice it before we even engage in the laning phase. For example, I'll go to place a ward, and nothing will happen, then I'll notice that none of the minions have health bars. At this point, I usually run to base, and type "******* lag", and try to minimize the damage.
It's really ridiculous. Everything was fine. Is my computer deciding to use less memory or something? I'm very computer illiterate.
