Same here. With so much attack speed, and Attack damage, it'd be silly not to buy armor penetration on vayne. I think what moon meant was that vayne recieves a ADC increase from 2x 
Phantom Dancer -> Last Whisper, as opposed to something like, Phantom Dancer -> Last Whisper -> Other damage item.
I've definitely heard the point moon made by other people, so i'm pretty sure that theory would still hold true. I highly doubt that any intelligent vanye player would completely neglect the importance of Last Whisper, though. That'd just be silly.

Well, I use trinity force on my build. I have two build depends on the situation. Build 1: Blade Of The Ruined King, Berserker's Greaves, Trinity Force, Statikk Shiv, Last Whisper and Infinity Edge (When im fed and we're winning). Build 2: Blade Of The Ruined King, Berserker's Greaves, Statikk Shiv, Last Whisper, Infinity Edge and any defense items depends on situation (when we're having problems) It's actually depends on your liking and the game situation. I like trinity force because of Sheen and it provides me more kiting ability.
