I mean you can go double ROA but I didnt play a lot of solo lane Annie at the time so I was trying to say you need these 3 items [DC DFG ROA]. I will update the guide in the next couple days. :D

Okay so I have to ask, was listing Rod of Ages twice, for mid lane an accident, or do you actually use two RoA on midlane Annie?

annie has a great impact on the game even being a support, and this build really fits well

Relic Shield got nerfed as if you know....only melee attacks could execute minions below 200hp, range attack does not =/

BTW, if you are a support Annie, it is better to start W and charge up the stun as it's very good at early skirmishes, example: invading the enemy jungle, the enemy is invading your jungle or whatever etc. Using Q to harass you'll just simply be OOM in no time, take advantage of Annie long AA range to poke the enemies, which is why greater mark of hybrid penetration is better for Annie.

You didn't explain some alternative runes though, readers won't know why they could be consider as alternatives =/ Your Solo Lane build also don't have an example of "Final Build", it is wise to add it.

Ancient Coin start is very bad now as it got nerfed, start with Spellthief's Edge, upgrade to Frostfang then sell it later if you need to build talisman of ascension.

I didn't think about that. Thank you for the advice. I'm going to try it out and incorporate my findings into the guide.

Then explain to me the reasons you pick Relic Shield over Doran's Shield

I chose Relic Shield because the passive allows for more gold acquisition then starting a Doran's Shield also I do like to upgrade it sometimes and just run around soaking up damage. Both are bad starts if you want to do lots of damage because they end up putting you alittle behind but if you plan on building moderately tanky I think they are fine.

ROA and Relic shield are not my first options on Annie but they do have a time and place. This guide was designed to show a variety of options on different ways to build Annie. I started using Relic shield to replace the Doran's shield after the nerf. I liked it and tried to build around it.

I do think you are right on going Chalice to Crucible over Athene's. I will change that in the guide.

As for the Hybrid Pen vs Magic Pen I mentioned that both options are viable. The Xpecial guide I was referencing chose Magic Pen http://www.solomid.net/guide/view/119290-annie-build-guide-support-by-xpecial

Also I want to note that SpellThief is a great item on Annie I just prefer/advise Ancient Coin. Ancient coin is more versatile/reliable in regards to team utility.

well the guide you are referencing to is 4 months old so it probably has some outdated information because the support meta has been changing quite a bit lately

I used to start doran's shield but after the nerf I started looking for other options to incorporate a moderate level of tanky. Honestly I like macalac's suggestion. I'm going to reevaluate the tank Annie build because a couple of high elo players mentioned they thought it was trash. I like the concept of Tanky Annie but I understand the delivery and item choice might be sub par and for that I apologize. Please hang with me as I try to finish this guide. I mentioned the only reason I published this guide was because I had friends that just started playing League, so I wanted to give them a few different builds on the same champion. Their champion selection is limited so I wanted Annie to be able to play in all the lanes effectively; however I do think Janitsu was right when he said to go Chalice to Crucible on support Annie that is a better option then I have listed. I will probably change it in the future.

Hybrid pen thingy: Xpecial doesn't use magic pen marks

Athene's thingy:
Athene isn't core. If you want to build Chalice of Harmony get mikael's crucible instead

ROA:
ROA isn't really a viable choice and the mid Annies don't build it either even though they usually have higher gold gain

Relic shield:
Not really a viable choice. As Vynertje said you usually want to start with spellthief and sometimes with ancient coin. Relic shield just doesn't really give the stats Annie wants

If you want the tankiness early, why not just purchase a Doran's Shield?

To clarify my response to Macalac starting ruby crystal building into sight stone and then getting a coin is fine. Like I mentioned in my guide it depends on play style and what works for you. I want my guide to show people different options so they can experiment on what works for them. There is not a one size fits all build it depends on factors like Team comp, Play style, lanning opponents, Gold advantage/deficit, etc. So please use this guide as a reference as you develop your own builds and play styles.
