Does it work? and if it did would that mean he survive longer in team fights with a beastly trample? Thoughts on this?

Spell vamp doesn't help at all. You have Triumphant Roar anyways. Might as well build more AP. Any mini items such as deathfires or void staff gimps your ability to play out AP alistar, he needs a Rabadon's/Lichbane rush to do any damage as AP.

SV only works on ACTIVATED abilities. Look it up before posting threads about it..

Alistar's passive not only procs spellvamp, it also procs the blade weaving mastery. God I hate it when people think they know what they're talking about when they're completely wrong. Downvotes for Searz and B-Wong.
