It is only easier to adapt to the situation if you know how to adapt. This is especially hard for new players or players new to that role. If you don't understand how the itemization affects your play style, then ~25-75% of the time you will be adapting inefficiently. Adaptation depends on your opponent, your team composition, their team composition, your play style, and how well you are playing that game. Understanding different builds, therefore, is one major step in successful adaptation. A guide might give you the burtiest build ever, but if you the player can only ever get to half the build bc you don't know when it is good to use, then what good is it?
