so i just want to share my adventure when i started league etc and hopefully help others with my advice hope you enjoy the read :)

The Inked Gamer - League of Legends Venture QLD OCE.

My name is Chris and this is my story about how I got into league and the positives of my experience’s and learning curves. I have been playing games ever since I was 5 with my dad he loved NES/SNES we use to tag team in ninja turtles tournament a lot anyway we don’t need to go that far back. I remember I started playing league of legends just over a year and a half ago, I remember the first time I played league I was playing DOTA (old school) with my primary school friends on Hamachi and a oceanic battle.net server that I can’t recall the name of. It was time for me to go home and I wanted something different in my everyday gameplay, so I went home and searched for a new moba game I could play just in my spare time and I found league of Legends. At first viewing from some YouTube videos etc. I didn’t really like what I saw but I gave it a try anyway.
As I ran through the tutorial (thinking I didn’t need to pay attention since I’ve played dota and thought it was similar" oh was I wrong... the whole concept/idea to defeat the sides throne was the same but the actual gameplay, mechanics, item builds, adc, support etc. This was so new to me, it was like no other game and I was hooked. If it’s one thing I love a challenge in game, and after my first few normals I knew this was the game for me.
I showed my dota friends a game of league of legends and none of them were interested and didn’t really want to understand how it works and just labeled it a "bad version of dota" they must of been blind (although kudos to them they are very professional dota 2 players now well done guys!). Ever since then I never played dota again (no hate to dota it’s a great moba but LoL just was everything I was after in a MOBA) so I played hours on end when I could. As I reached level 25ish getting so excited to reach that level 30 mark my heart condition had come back to haunt me....I had just moved to Brisbane and sadly as I came to my fresh start my heart condition attacked and I was in hospital and bed ridden for a solid 4-6 weeks, unable to even have the focus nor energy to play LoL but the amount of knowledge I gained from viewing videos, reading guides and also reading forums just got me more hooked on the game. (Great way to learn as well if you’re struggling to understand a few things).
The day I started to feel better and have energy I jumped on to league of legends using what I read/watched while I was bed ridden to the test, and trying new metas and combos etc. I couldn’t have been more thankful for the guides and videos I watched it made me feel more competitive and thrive of using mechanics and trying new things. I played for a solid 13 hours and I remember it was really late at night, I needed to secure one more victory until I reached that 30 mark I was all set and so keen to woop some *** and win this!
fortunately we win with an easy 25minute win and the joys of reaching 30 made me so happy the first thing I did was try a ranked game even though I needed more practice my curiosity was too much. Here I am in a ranked queue looking at these banning rules and first choice etc thinking to myself I’m screwed, sadly I was correct and got owned as darius top, anyway I played and played and got placed in bronze V from my 10/10 games I was actually happy I was placed in the lowest ranked as I felt like it gave me more competition to reach to the top.
In the last year since reaching 30, my health had gotten worse making it a lot hard to play and reaching for my goal as number 1 I’ve wanted to be known for my game play ever since I hit that 30 mark but unfortunately I never grasped enough skill over the year I had to make even a slight progress I still stand in bronze II but I’m never giving up I’m put there for a reason and I’m going to make it to a high rank.
I know your probably wondering what was the point of this story from a bronzie, there was really no point I just felt like writing my story of my journey through league and that I find league a lot more than just a game, when I’m depressed or anxious etc it’s a great place to escape and let out anger or take your mind off negativity, its even helped my heart slow down when it plays up due to my condition.
Also on another note to all the "elo hell" players don’t think "you’ll never get out of bronze" or be ashamed you’re there because if you be positive about it and treat it just for fun and enjoyment and especially a good way to learn I can almost guarantee you you’ll enjoy it a lot more than just wanting that win to get out of "elo hell", I agree there is leavers and feeders etc but there is in every rank do your best and just be happy while playing. You might have a **** game but who’s to say your next game won’t be amazing? You might have learnt something from your last game you can use to your advantage the next game.
So basically what I’m trying to say I guess is to the people that love league it’s not just a game it is a lot of things a lot more than just a MOBA where you aim to win and "elo hell" is only hell if you make it hell for yourself and LoL is actually a cure for some people which I find great that people have found a way to make them relaxed, happy etc.
I hope you enjoyed my rant of my venture and I’m still playing aiming to reach number one!
Thank you for taking the time to read this and I wish you all luck in your gaming.
SIDE NOTE - on a side note I am looking for a ranked team I main jungle/top/support and really I’m just aiming to have fun with a group of people and see where it goes even happy to help teach a thing or two and bring positivity to your gameplay :).
