Even though I followed the build of the pro players, my damage still sucks, can anyone instruct me how to play TF like a boss?

Twisted Fate isn't played because his damage is absolutely beastial (it isn't), but because he's a playmaker champion who can snowball sidelanes thanks to his ultimate. He's a pushing, wave-shoving machine that excells at farming and ganking.

He is not the best duelist in the early game for a few reasons:
- Lacks proper finisher without Lich Bane
- Only has one long range nuke, W puts him within 600 range danger zone
- Has no mobility outside his Destiny port.
- Squishy

For the latter 2 cons; players tend to Ghost and Flash as summoner spells when using Twisted Fate.

In the lane you want to be constantly poking with Pick A Card (blue/red card) and Stacked Deck's 4th attack proc while farming minions. When people are low enough, Gold Card + Wild Cards and a few autos should finish someone off pretty easily. Ignite can be used as well.

You want to gank bot lane when possible to net yourself or your allies easy kills by nuking their ADC, or alternatively going top lane to kill and shove the wave. Before you gank it'd be ideal to have your own wave pushed to enemy tower to damage it, deny enemy mid experience and gold and add pressure.

In teamfights, you want to either pick off a single squishy target with your stun (sometimes you have to flash for it) and Lich Bane + Wild Cards combo. Alternatively, you have to play more carefully by spamming Wild Cards while peeling off attacks with Pick A Card. Ideally, you'll be split-pushing a lot late game due to your high-end nuke damage, tower-shredding abilities and fast push.

If you're looking for the absolute high-end AoE mages, I'm afraid TF isn't quite there. But his strengths lie in other areas.
