I wouldn't be too surprised about the fact that people give it a spin. Practically every champion has seen some play in a role they weren't originally designed for, I think. Having said that, I'd have to agree that it doesn't sound very great to me.
I haven't lost to her yet. I gave up a FB once but I was able to rebound because I could all in her much better than she could all in me. I think that's the key here. How well does she All in compared to others? she simply can't is the answer. if she ****s up her
Rend even once past lvl 3 or 4 she is going to trade about 50% of her health and Flash for a get away and maybe deal 25% damage back. I almost guarantee that.

I think that 90% of the reason she's going to be "good" is the range and mobility. She doesn't have a whole lot of CC so, there's that. And she doesn't spike at 6 unless the jungler's around when she does. However, her gank setup is amazing.
Iunno, she might be okay.

I think if she is working well with her support and proccing the bonus damage then her all ins would be devestating
I feel like Rito is just trying to express how vital it is to work with your support...regardless of whether you are playing Kalista or not. Kalista is just the prime example and it is her #1 talent that distinguishes her from other champs
Thanks to The_Nameless_Bard for the epic sigpic

Also, check out my Soundcloud, I make music..kinda

You missed a key point of this thread. Kalista is playing a Solo top role in this situation. she has no Support of any kind for 95% of the time. no Oathsworn to Ult or anything.

Yet she still has mobility, making melees without hard CC + burst or ample poke completely at the mercy of her kit.
Kalista can probably even kite out enemy ganks with her attack-move and a well placed rend.
The lack of access to parts of her kit is a pain, but those are things that a normal top-laner goes without anyways.

She basically has 2 abilities and no Level 6 spike. this seems like a major disadvantage to me that is underscored by unreliable escapes since top lane Crowd Control is a thing for just about every laner under the sun and gap closers on a few of the more prevalent ones makes escaping almost impossible. The only way to play this lane is to not get caught at all because if Kalista is so squishy I can't make any sense of it.
