Zilean is a great champion and not used as much as he should be. He's an excellent support and a good choice if you want to mix up your champ arsenal.

I typically go something like 11-2-10 sometimes better sometimes worse. The main point of this build is stacking which i don't see enough zileans do. They die little and give a lot of assists so stacking is useful!

I doubt this guide will ever be seen but if it is please try it against some bots 2 or three times before deciding it sucks or rocks. Trust me you'll learn that it just works.

Zilean is all AP and you need a lot of that and survivability if you want to play him right. Most guides focus too much on survivability and not enough on AP and the other portion do it the opposite and focus on AP and not survivability.

I usually get a health potion at first with the tome to help him out. I try to get the soulstealer ASAP due to you getting stacks early. I'll typically have 3-6 before level 7-8 if you're laning well with someone.

The catalyst is needed to give him an hp/mp boost because he's pretty darn squishy and that's why i go for the rod of ages and soul shroud before getting the rest of the AP items.

I've tried the build with doran's ring but i find that you do better stacking AP than getting an item you'll just need to get rid of later.

The skill sequence doesn't matter a ton just max timebomb and rewind asap.

Zilean is all about pissing the enemy laners off. He does this very well and they tend to make mistakes or to push more than they should because they hate him. Just be a pest and you'll out level them and pwn them.

Try to get the blue buff as often as possible as it really helps!

Typically i like to farm by setting a bomb on a minion that is about to die and he will kill those around him. or double bombing late game about 4 minions apart if you're cleaning up a lane you want to spread the bombs so that they will kill the minion with the other bomb and do larger AOE.

As much as you may want to zilean never pwns. he is a great support unit and sometimes i've done 17/1/20+ and controlled the map with him but you never go into a battle thinking "i'm going to ace that group of ninny's!"

He's extremely squishy at start and you need to be careful.

Essentially he's great at pissing someone off because they hate getting bombed. He's also good at scaring someone into dropping levels at the beginning because they have to go back so much. (even tanks)

I'll find myself needing to go and get the blue buff around level 10-12 helps me stay in the battles longer.

His ult is very useful in certain circumstances. tower diving around level 6 to kill someone just to revive yourself is great fun!

Some useful tactics include:

• Going up front in a team fight and getting them to focus you and reviving yourself. they've used a lot of abilities and are on cooldown so your team can ace.
• baiting by your tower with low health then slowing them and casting ult on self easy kill
• double bombing is extremely useful. basically stack two bombs on a single target by using reweind the first explodes and the second does damage in a few seconds.
• late game spam rewind and spam your ultimate. If you have the blue buff you're invincible.
