My buddy runs LoL on an old as hell single core pentium 4, what kind of bad comp should you have to not be able to run LoL?

Too bad Searz, your method does not work for laptops. They start to lag the system as **** after 2,5-3 years of use. In the end, best time I had a laptop quite usable was for 3 years and 4 months.
3 years is not bad for a laptop, mine is almost 3 years and runs LoL in 40 fps.
No complains from me.

Nope. You just need to not fill your hard dive more than 80% and use a good defragmentation program.

What Searz said. They can last if you understand how to take care of your hard drive and components. But yeh, get a new PC every 5-6 years. World of warcraft certainly does not require a super computer, my 5 year old Compaq laptop with 300GB of hardrive 2GB of ram and a integrated graphics card runs it on low at about 40 fps. Time to get a new computer, and no they will never do that because they will lose money, but they will update the graphics as time goes and computers get better, so keep updating as much as you can, components or the whole thing.

Is it possible that League of Legends, or perhaps other games in general, could upgrade to such astounding engines that only super-computers of the insanely rich would be able to process them?
Already seeing this with games like Crysis and World of Warcraft. What about League of Legends?
