Haven't played LoL in ages and basically starting fresh on a new account. Back then it was straight up grinding blue essence for months to unlock a decent roster.

What's the current meta for getting champions and cosmetics efficiently without blowing a hole in my wallet? Are passes worth it, or are there reliable ways to get RP / free codes and capsules through events? Just trying to figure out the best way to catch up without spending a fortune.
