Umm i dont think there is a should or should not go all players are good. Xpecial is just as good Aphromo, same with leomon. I could really care less lets all be honest here all stars is just what players you like more so obviously but you can really argue with fact that tsm is number 1 spot so alot there players will get top votes.
Not that it matters all stars this year is just for fun man its only 2 per region and its more of fun thing it wont actually give region another spot its just a show.
The Real even is The All-Star Invitational where teams like gambit, tsm, skt1, could face off depending who finishes 1st.
People wanted this split to matter more now it does and all stars is more for fun tho.
I mean, it IS still a tournament. I don't know what most league pros thought of the all star invitational, but from what i have seen of doublelift on youtube, he took all stars really really seriously
If I helped you out, be sure to throw me a +Rep!

Last year's format was ******ed lol. All-star isn't supposed to be a casual showmatch, last year's format determined which region gets an extra spot at worlds. the changes were necessary and deserved. Placing together people from random teams doesn't exemplify the true skill level of the region.
Furthermore, they still retained the entertainment aspect by the second format.

For those who might not understand the format:
Basically, as I understand it from here, it's the BEST teams that are battling it out for the extra spot in World Championships.
What follows is purely for entertainment:
It will be a mixed region roster. In other words, EU with NA, or GPL and LPL or something like that.

the All-Star Invitational will bring together the regional winners of the NA LCS, EU LCS, LPL, GPL, and OGN Champions. These five teams will duke it out in group stage play, with the top four advancing to a best-of-three semifinal.

The All-Star Challenge
At the beginning of each day of competition, players will be able to watch The All-Star Challenge, a series of games featuring two mixed region rosters. Players will not only elect two pros from their region to play in the Challenge event, they will also vote to influence aspects of the modes that the pros play.

Who do you think will get the ADC spot in EU?
Candy Panda has always been a great adc, probably still the best EU but Rekkles seems really good right now...and there is also Genjas and Tabzz.
Interesting...

I think moon is right in that zionspartan is underappreciated atm. I think he's one of the strongest top laners for NA, and not many people side with me on that :/
You don't understand how much I agree with you.

Well it is an all-star event. So there are definitely players that should go; the idea is you send the best players of the split, and that can only be 1 player from each role. Xpecial is very good, but he hasn't been as impressive as he has in the past. Aphromoo in particular has felt like he has had an impact in CLG games, Xpecial's just been very solid. Playing solid is not worthy of an all-star spot imo.
It's always about the most popular players, thats why I made 2 lists, one of who likely go and one of who should go. TSM fans are absolute ******ed, and they will send all TSM players if that was possible. But is Dyrus the best top laner? No absolutely not, Balls and Zionspartan have had much better splits them. Is Wildturtle the best ADC? Probably not, Doublelift has been as impressive or more impressive than him. Oddone has had a very good split, but has it been more impressive than Dexter or Meteos' split? Nope. Xpecial and Bjergsen could easily go.
The point of all-stars is to send the best player. Your record has nothing to do with all-stars. TSM might play the best as a team, but they do not have the best player at every role. There have been players with more impressive splits than some TSM players. It would be a disservice to the NA all-star team as well as these players if you voted based on the LCS standings

Fans will elect two pro players from each pro league to send to the All-Star Challenge, for a total of 10 pros participating in the event. They will be split into two teams with both teams having a pro from each league. Those teams compete each day in a unique game mode that should be fun to watch. What gets me excited about the Challenge is that we're cranking up the level that fans will get to participate. In the weeks leading up to All-Stars, fans'll get to influence the various game modes that the two Challenge teams will participate in.
You're only sending TWO PROS from a region.
And I stand corrected Allstar isn't determining an extra spot at worlds anymore, unlike last year.
Nevertheless the format for this year seems much for fit for actual international competition. There's always been a distinct lack of international tournaments, and what could be better than a Riot-hosted one?
