Your MMR is too low for your current league/division, so the game is making it extremely difficult for you to get promoted. Either you'll drop in leagues/divisions until they match your MMR, or your MMR will rise after a while and you'll get promoted again, or some combination of the two.

^This. A great deal of people sitting at Silver 1 and Gold 5 are feeling this frustration. They win games and get 3 points, then lose one for 11. Its strange, but know that your hidden "MMR" is what really drives matchmaking. The leagues are simply cosmetic interface above what is really going on.
