As long as the pop-up 'thanks for voting' message came up it should count.
The only way I know to get the green bar in your comment is to vote while comment to vote is turned on. You might be able to get it to come up another way, I'm not sure. At any rate it doesn't reaaally matter. :P

Well I rly do wonder how the green bar shows? Because without it the author of the guide do not see that I've voted, and either do I know if the vote was succeded. :/

The green / red bars only happen if "Comment to Vote" is turned on and only for the first 20 votes. Like people said if it says "thanks for voting" it worked. Also the score usually takes a while to update on the actual guide, so don't worry about that.

New to the forums and for some reasons I don't think I am voting on guides properly. I've clicked the small up thumb at the top of the guide, but how come I don't get a '+1 bar' on my comment like other voters?
