I once completed the ultimate Rube Goldberg machine, a machine of infinite complexity, propped up on the four intricate 'legs', it's radar 'ears; I had crafted for it, suddenly it started growing longer, and longer, thinner and thinner, then folding in itself first into simple 2d shapes, to molecule like 3 dimensional ones, and then fractals, and finally into shapes, I could not describe to you, as if almost it had evolved into shapes that dissolved into many dimensions, until it even penetrated the weave of the fabric of reality, and distorted it, it grew and grew and I knew I had done it I had created the most complex machine ever, I had reached the highest ideals of man, "A GOD AMONG ENGINEERS, AN IDOL AMONG SCIENTISTS, AN ENIGMA-CRAFTER AMONG MATHEMATICIANS!" And then as I revelled in the joys of reached the realm of Gods, my machine, flashed brightly and was there no more...

Crestfallen I sunk into my chair, I immediately racked my brain for ways to prove what I had done, but I could find naught, my evidence had just dissappeared, and my theory would be met with skepticism, my half finisheds and left-overs with demands for more substantial, and eventually me with derision and sneers, I knew then that I was once again, no, I always had been, a feeble old man.

I decided to abandon the glories of the complex logician, and focus the remains of my life now on the shady, ordered paths of the Arcane, I began travelling studying once again, travelling to the haunted groves of the Baba Yaga (a charming old woman) and the Sky Mountain Temples bordering Sino-Hungary where I witnessed many miracles, after 10 years (long since I'd given up on ever finding the infinite complexity machine, or so I'd told myself.) I had heard of a Indu-Valleyan fakir who had walked through the walls of the Taj-Mut-Haaal into the center of the jewel room, and in front of an astonished crowd, pulled out a thin, glimmering thread that moved like no object should, and floated as if gravity was no such thing at all, when the young prince came into the room, the fakir said, 'No money or wealth can make you a tunic or cape out of this thread, for it is not the thread of mortals.' the prince became enraged at this and lunged at the fakir, who simply vanished. The prince found that even through he could move the base of the thread anywhere even into the aether itself, he could never pull anymore out, he became obsessed and frustrated with it, after several months hauled up in his chamber he called through the galvaniphone, and asked me, an expert in both the Physick and Occultum if I would take a look at it, feeling a foolish old heart quicken, I agreed.

Upon entering the room, no even approaching it I felt a loneliness in the room, like all possible happiness was being sucked into a vanishing point, and then disappearing, but I soon as I came close enough to see it, the thread around my arm, and it was like I could see in colour again, 'Oh my dear, dear machine.' I allowed myself to say, 'how I have missed you.' Upon seeing the perplexed expression on the young princes's face, knowing his quick and jealous temperament, I quickly lied 'I will make you all the finest clothes imaginable, just get me back to Great Avon, he quickly obliged and arranged the fastest with me all the while holding the neverlengthening thread, soon I was back where I had created the machine, I rooted around the desk looking for that which I had so long ago discarded, and touched the threads together.

Blinding Light, and the Laterally Oriented Nootrophic Gyromorphic Coiled Aiperonic Triumphatron was finally finished. Everything in the world and time had become one, and I it's center, collapsing around me into nothing, and then I waited for the longest of longest times I waited, then once again BANG! a whole new universe created around me, with the machine making up the tiniest vibrating strings of the world, I was reincarnated once again, setting about my quest, and repeating the process, repeating and repeating and repeating, so many times now that numbers have become meaningless, I have come to spread the message that my quest will soon begin again, rejoice for the time of the L_O_N_G_C_A_T is upon us.
