Use 9/0/21 masteries. They are by far the best ones for ANY Fiddlesticks build.

MP5 or MP5/lvl seals
CDR or AP/lvl glyphs
AP or HP quints
Fiddles should be somewhat tanky and there are a few nice items for that:
Rod of Ages solves any kind of mana problems he might have when combined with utility masteries and runes, effectively making Archangel's Staff a waste.
Zhonya's Hourglass works very good with his ultimate.
Rylai's Crystal Scepter is a very, VERY good item on Fiddles.
Banshee's Veil is very good if you can fit it in your build.
Abyssal Mask works perfectly with your passive and gives some AP and durability at the same time.
Spirit Visage is good, but the items above are generally stronger.

+1 searz.Fiddle especially with the new patch is very strong.So combining cdr+some health+MrP+Ap he can just rule in the game.I think that a very good combination of items is zhonyas's hourglass so you can go in the middle of the batttle with your ulti and devastate your enemies without losing any hp,then rylai's beacuase it gives you health,a good amount of ap and a passive that fits perfectly to fiddles spells and last but not least abyssal scepter is a great item because it has a very good synergy with your passive and on the other hand if the enemy team is formed by heavy casters it can save you cause of its good amount of Mr.These three items i think are the items that every fiddle must have in any situation beacuse they boost almost all of your stats and abilities.
