Jax OP Top or Jungle. Tips?

Ok, Sure Jax is probably a very good top laner, and I've seen him with so much cs and is very tanky. I'm new to Jax and am having trouble learning how to use his mechanics and to cs properly in the top lane.

I guess my problem is I'm getting zoned out by these other tanky champs such as Malphite, Illaoi and all those other top laners.

Am I just meant to cs top lane and that's it? is it just farm it out until I reach 6 or just have enough confidence to 1v1? At what points should I be going all in?

He's good on both positions, and is very strong in the late game (when full build). That often means he's strong in lower elos, because people find it harder to close games early and they allow you to catch up even if you had a bad start.

Jungle is decent but kinda worse than top IMO, since it's hard to keep the same level and gold input than in a well played top lane. That said, if you want to play him top you should learn to farm passively versus hard lanes, which means learning stuff about the different matchups. You can't just generalize all of them, but I guess level 6, 7 and 9 are good powerspikes for Jax, and if you complete a full item right before getting to one of those you may be able to start winning the lane (unless the enemy has way more items/level than you).

There are also a bunch of champions you just need to outplay somehow. You won't win versus a Malphite if you stick to him after he hit you with his Ground Slam. You won't win versus an Illaoi if you're unable to dodge her tentacles. It's something you need to learn thoroughly if you want to overcome the problems that matchup gives you.

I main Jax jungle.. For me it's to hard to play Jax top... i dunno how but I just cant play it... When someone plays Jax jungle it's for me much better option.. cause u dont have to show even on map till lvl 6 and till lvl 6 u get easily fed in jungle... slowly jungling and buying real items makes u stronger as Jax...(Jax main lvl 7=50-70 k points... not much but still...)

Jax just afk farms until he gets his items, he can be played in both jungle and top but he's stronger in top due to jax lacking early pressure thus you could actually cause your team to lose without ganking much.

I would personally take the jungle path, only because i love jungle and "I" am good at it :D. I would recommend just cs when those champions are in top lane. -Nilescoolman
