League of Legends (LoL) Question: Status of Sion (AD)

He's pretty scary if fed and allowed to autoattack during his ult, too bad his abilities cost half his mana bar and he can't lane at all. He's like Poppy; great if farmed or given passive gold, but can't survive Summoner's Rift laning phase.

I have a fair share of games with sion.

He has probably the safest laning of all on top, even if you get hard countered.

You shouldnt expect to do too much damage, you have to rely on your team to do it for you, you just hold the enemy still, thats your job.

If you get behind, just tank up and help to cc the important members of the opposite team. You are not really heavy to carry since you provide a lot of utility and tankiness.

I tryed sion recently.

First game I carried my team to victory with a good score.

Second game I sucked balls with no damage and stuff.

So I can tell you Sion is like shaco nowadays, if you carry, you carry, if you lose control, you lose yourself.

An autoattack champ with no gapclose = pretty much useless

his laning phase sucks so you cant put him top
his jungle is mediocre and ganks are okay, but his transition into late game is just ****

Overall he doesn't really fit anywhere.

I hear that people are starting to jungle him, not sure how that will go but it seems to work from what I've seen especially in heavy ad teams. I'm still not sure whether its a good idea or not but if you really want to play him thats probably a better idea than laning with him.
