Help with ganks
Asked by kelvinkoay94 on March 12, 2013
I've been playing LoL for quite a while now but I still do not know exactly what to do when my jungler ganks my lane. What exactly should I do? Also, if I play as a jungler, what should I do to ensure the gank works?
This could mean:
* That you initiate, preferable with CC
* That you assist his initiate.
* Do this by trying not to push
* To be ready to attack when he does.
When you want to gank as a jungler being, you do basically the same :D
As the jungler, typically you should gank right as an enemy champion is going for a last hit, or going aggressive on your ally (be wary in this situation that the enemy jungler could be around).
If you have a ability that can easily be dodged by a
Don't change your "style" too fast (e.g. don't suddenly go full-out aggressive when you've been passive for the last 10 minutes)
Make sure the one with better initiate initiates (this is sort of a given). For example, let J4 engage if you're a champion with little/no cc like vladimir.
If you're the jungler, make sure to PING. Also, try not to gank when your ally is low health, as they will feel like they must engage, and might give a kill to the enemy team.
Make sure to pay attention to other information besides health, such as mana, cds, summoner spells etc.
Remember, I'm a total noob, so I wouldn't count on these tips too much :P
As for ganking yourself, ask ahead of time where wards are, and a helpful tips (especially on blue side) is to come around and through tri-brush at top lane. That way you are blocking their main and preferred method of escape, meaning they must run down river, and possibly be caught by the mid laner if he's on the ball. Tri-Brush is also warded far less often than the river making walking through the enemy jungle to use it is pretty effective a lot of the time.
Hope this helps. :p
It all comes down to what champ is ganking, what champ you're against and if the opponent, you or your jungler has a flash - you also need to evaluate where the enemy jungler is.
I mostly play
If your jungler can get to the laner, don't do anything to the enemy until you're 100% sure that you hit your spells - yes, i'm talking to you

So yeah, knowing whether the jungler or the laner has the better engage is crucial to effective ganks no matter if you're the jungler or the laner. ;)
1. no more then 1 wave of creep is there or they start to hurt and maybe kill you if the other champ burst you making it 1 for 1 when its not needed to be. this is especially important under tower because they might be pushing hard and easy to gank but if u lose 1-2 wave of creep and also take creep aggro(like i said can kill you). Its not worth the gold from kill to lose the creeps and/or get kill by creeps.
2.Also lets say they have good escape (Ez e, Kass r, etc) that can make gank impossible try to bait out the move say, make it look like you go all in but you really don't, so it would be easier for him to CC him to secure kill that is otherwise impossible.
3. this is for lower level of player such as I, but make sure they are not way ahead to point of 2v1 is possible for him/her. Cause i seen many times when jungler only thinks to gank which might lead to bad outcome which ends in argument and sometimes get zoned out of lane. But forcing a gank went behind can give you the better out come so this depends on the situation.
Also, cannot stress enough how helpful pinging is before a gank, especially If your the one initiating.
