League of Legends (LoL) Question: Solo queue AD Carries

    Solo queue AD Carries

I've been playing almost exclusively in premade 5s with my buddies for a long time, having the AD Carry role. One day, my RL friends made a bet with me that I would lose every single solo queue game I played in a set of 5. I thought they were dissing me on purpose, so I agreed and wanted to prove them wrong. Then I lost all 5 games in a row and am now short $20.

I noticed that in solo queue, there isn't any sort of team coordination. No one takes dragon for 30 minutes, and when I ping dragon nobody comes. I call buff timers and my jungler still lets it get stolen. It's "every man for himself" and nobody peels for me; in one game with a Shen, he didn't ult a single time from further than half a screen away. If I get jumped on, the rest of the team just runs away instead of helping me. Sometimes they even yell at me for feeding when we could've won that teamfight had they helped. Is the AD Carry role just not worth playing in solo queue where there's no team communication?

FYI I played Miss Fortune, Miss Fortune, Vayne, Ashe, Vayne. Are these carries only good in a 5-man team? Are there any carries who would do well in solo queue because they can take care of themselves?

AD is definitely worth playing in solo queue, but I would suggest in general you do try to stick with ADs who can take care of themselves and get fed early in the game. I prefer to play things like Ezreal, Caitlyn, Miss Fortune or Draven. You can't really go wrong with Ezreal or Caitlyn since they're so safe even if your team doesn't help you. I wouldn't really recommend Ashe for solo queue since she's very team based and bad at getting fed. Vayne is okay but a bit risky and highly skill dependant.

People should do dragon with you if you ping it enough and ask in the chat, especially if you just killed the enemy bot lane or forced them to base. One thing to bear in mind is that generally when you make calls in games people are much more likely to listen if you're doing really well in the game. Generally if you nag for dragon enough people will eventually listen, if not you can try just doing it with your support if you have a pink ward and at least one major item.

What you should remember is that carrying solo queue is all about getting fed and decimating your lane. The enemy team will generally be equal in skill to your own. Crush your lane so hard that they can't do anything and snowball it into dragons and aggressive pushes in mid lane. Again, people are more likely to follow your lead and help you out during fights if you're doing really well. If you really want to make this easy try duo queueing with a good support player.

Kennen is quite good in solo queue
Twisted Fate is hard, very hard
Varus is just for winning laning phase...

Tristana should work as well; she has a self-peel and a good escape mechanism. Graves also is fairly independent to an extent but his autoattack range is killing him in the current meta.

I play a lot of bronze, and you just described a typical bronze 5 game. If you can't have an extremely dominant lane phase, then you are a bronze adc, or you have an afk support.

Don't play vayne or Ashe in solo queue. I'd also wager that you took ignite instead of barrier or cleanse. Work on your mechanics and less about your team.
