VERY basic question about runes from a noobie

Hey guys, im new here so go easy on me :)

So i started playing LOL a week and half ago after having watched my bros play for 2 years, but the thing is i've been setting up my builds and spells and masteries nicely from builds on here (you go guys!) but as for my runes, my brother says that to wait till i get to level 20 so the higher tier runes are unlocked and not to waste IP on them.

But the downside is i play ADC and im pretty much getting owned constantly either because i plain suck or maybe cause of the runes, can anyone tell me if runes factor much into your game at earlier levels like 1-15 and whether i should spend the IP on them, or just wait it out and take the beating like a man, thanks and keep up the great work friends.......

chances are if your enemies at the same level as you (being under 20) then their runes will be pretty weak. It might give them like a 5% advantage over you, but as grandmaster said, it won't throw a lane.
Since level 3 runes pack more punch and you won't end up replacing them (as you would with tier2) I recommend just waiting it out.

By and large supports are the least reliant on runes, as their job normally involves their utility (like stuns, or heals) as opposed to other attack oriented classes.
If you want some runes that are always useful btw, Id start with , Because those are good on literally everyone.

They factor a lot but doesn't mean you have to straight up lose the lane. Simply farm and avoid confrontation.

hmmm ya been hearing this about junglers a lot, i personally like ADC and solo top, i guess ill stick with them thanks guys.. :)

Jungle needs runes, pretty much impossible to jungle effectively without them (except for nunu and fiddlesticks)

Everything else should be playable

you should not vory a lot about that, because most likely your opponents dont have runes as well on that lvl, so just play normaly where ever you want, train, get 20 and buy tier 3 runes

I am not quite sure. I think all rules need runes to some good extent. Supports can run without the right rune setup but I don't know how that goes of you don't have runes at all. Junglers are probably hurt the most without runes though.

in the lower lvls, runes are #care.
Your brother is right Tier 3 runes are the only ones worth buying, so be patiant till lvl 20.

It's not about the runes, It's about the gameplay.

havent looked at this for long, but least suffering is support.
But runes are really not a gamechanger, they give you more power in the beginning of the game (more ad, more ap, more armor).

If you run don't play smart no runes can help you out mate ;).
