"Abyssal Scepter has a lot of MR.
Rylai's Crystal Scepter and Rod of Ages have health.
Zhonya's Hourglass has armor.
Or you could just build usual tank items and get Rabadon's Deathcap.
The only one of those I actually recommend is Abyssal Scepter.

"Nobody in this entire game will have less than 45 armor by the time you can get Black Cleaver. Everybody gets more armor as they level up..."

I have been building him: Merc, Wit's, Sunfire, Warmog's, Spirit, (depends on what mood I'm in). I get plenty of defence without sacrificing health. :P"
