"Gunblade has double the AD of triforce, and over double the AP.
Spell Vamp and LS are both great for sustainability, both at 20% on gunblade.
Not to mention its 445 less than triforce.
I was under the impression that offtank should have decent sustainability and decent AD/AP.

Tri-force just takes too much to build for a first item.
hextech is a 1000+ cheaper. It doesn't have all the benefits, but has most of them and to a higher extent.
