It wasn't really an item I ever thought about, because it doesn't build into anything later, but I find the early MPen helps a lot against opponents who see Lux and rush Merc Treads. Sure, Majai's is a great item on Lux, but it's the first AP boosting item you get, and that's after a Philosopher's stone and boots. I find it's much easier to get those stacks after some AP, so I would get another AP item before trying to ge"
