"The meta doesn't matter. Like Karthus hasnt' been in the meta since s5 or something but some people still tend to use him and get exceptional winrates and high rankings (like me xd). I wish you the best of luck!

"Start with Spellthief's Edge, get Sightstone, still rush Morello's, Rod of Ages so you're a little bit tanky (to peel your carry), get Rylia's to have some utility by slowing the enemies with your spells (to prevent them from reaching your carries) and the rest is situational."

"In this guide I've said many times that magic penetration is a must on Karthus. So Sorcerer's Shoes, Liandry's Torment are a must."
Picking Rylai's is cool and all, but what does it really give you? "
