"In lane Renekton generally excels against lots of different matchups as a lane bully but he can struggle against AP top laners for instance. I used to play him a lot in Season 4 but I don't really know any specifics concerning matchups anymore.

He's still a great pick and a strong zone mage. He has recently being picked up in the competetive scene quite a lot if that matters to you.
He isn't been touched by Riot in the last four patches...
