"The more I look at it, the more I'm sure there's hardly no point getting DFT over Thunderlord's. Even DoT champs like swain and malzahar can proc it with relative ease (swain Q E AA, Malz E W AA). Ranged and a mage already makes it pretty easy.

E max vs W max depends on so many things: enemy sustain, how long do you both duel, how much harass can he bring, etc. I personally nearly always max W except for enemies I can hardly ever reach and that force to farm with it :/"

"Idk if it's worth as a first item because the item itself is only good on aatrox when it's finished building. Perhaps I'd go vamp scepter - Guinsoo if I feel like I need the sustain. Unless you're in a lane where you need to max E, so the blasting wand doesn't fully go to waste."
