"Life steal quints were never very effective on Zed and right now they really aren't worth it anymore. Also, Armour Penetration is much more effective on him than AD is.
Regarding items, Randuin's is meh for an assassin. It just doesn't fit Zed's role one bit. Best defensive items are GA, "
