"Talon is prone to ganks; especially pre-6. If you shut him down he becomes useless so actually it's a smart thing to do. Also, maokai is an amazing mid ganker."

I honestly don't get the question. Do you want champs that counter Vi or the other way around?
Counters to Vi are: Vladimir, Lee Sin and Malphite.
