"overheal is definitely not bad for jungling with ranged champs and having a healthier clear.
But then if you go jungle item + 2 crit items, it takes even longer before you have any healing against champions. So not that great overall.

A jungler that beats you in a 1v1 will counterjungle you hard to abuse this advantage if they're any good, and you just can't play the game.
So yes, 1v1 matters a lot.
