"I'd say that before 6 you should keep your distance, try to memorize Zed's Q cooldown since the resource cost won't be a problem he will be likely to use it on cooldown. The #1 factor to beating a Zed is to anticipate his attacks.
Stay behind your minions and he will push whilst trying to attack "

Kayle, Lissandra & Vladamir all work very well against Zed's ultimate, additionally I'd suggest building an early Seeker's Armguard to reduce his damage. In the late game...
