"Actually, Shot puts come in many different varieties. Rubber/Sand filled durable plastic spheres, and of course metallic. Their sizes and weights vary depending on the athletic level. Collegeate (cant spell) level throwers use 16 pound shots.
As for Discus, they vary as well between durable rubber"
